The Creek That No Longer Speakes but still Speaks

The creek is no longer speaking with us, but the creek still is speaking. I know it sounds strange but it will make since soon. The creek may not be with us but the creek is. Even though you cant see the creeks mind and thoughts flow or here the creek talk to you he still is. Lately observing the creek has been very lame because I though the creek was gone, but it turns out he it still here. Even though the creek is gone he left behind his thoughts all over the creek so that he can still talk all the time.

Piute Creek

By Gary Snyder b. 1930 Gary Snyder
One granite ridge
A tree, would be enough
Or even a rock, a small creek,
A bark shred in a pool.
Hill beyond hill, folded and twisted
Tough trees crammed
In thin stone fractures
A huge moon on it all, is too much.
The mind wanders. A million
Summers, night air still and the rocks
Warm.   Sky over endless mountains.
All the junk that goes with being human
Drops away, hard rock wavers
Even the heavy present seems to fail
This bubble of a heart.
Words and books
Like a small creek off a high ledge
Gone in the dry air.

A clear, attentive mind
Has no meaning but that
Which sees is truly seen.
No one loves rock, yet we are here.
Night chills. A flick
In the moonlight
Slips into Juniper shadow:
Back there unseen
Cold proud eyes
Of Cougar or Coyote
Watch me rise and go.(Graham)

This poem reminded me of the creek because it just tells you about my creek in a way. Even though it doesn't have a bear in it. Going back though.

The rocks that the creek used to walk on has his path left words with knowledge all over them. The rocks tell me so much. It tells me what he his thinking, that he wishes he can flow and be free again but he had to go away for a while. It reminds me of the history we had and all of the memories. The creek reminded me of the freaking bear that I saw and the rocks show me was scared when that bear was there that day. That's what the rocks show me. The creek its self says that he is still here. The patterns of the soil tell me a story by them self .Its wavy and long smooth strokes. Its kind of peaceful. Over all the creek is still alive and well. The creek may not speak with words but he speaks with heart.

The moments of happiness we enjoy take us by surprise. It is not that we seize them, but that they seize us.” (101) This encouraged me because observing the creek took me at surprise and I seized the moment and I will miss talking about the creek but the creek is resting for know so that means I do to. The creek has should me things that I will remember for ever and I hope the same for you.
